The “Kupferplatte” copper mine museum in Jochberg is worth a visit. It has a special place in mining history, as it is the only perpendicular copper mine in Central Europe. An excursion “underground” is an exciting experience for the whole family.
A museum visit to the Jochberg Mining and Local History Museum shows interesting details about the rural village culture: the history of mining, the tradition and role of shooting, as well as the development of skiing as a sport. Rural manual equipment, regional traditional costumes as well as the equipment of the marksmen and Tyrolean freedom fighters are displayed in several of the rooms.
For city tours, Salzburg (80 km), Innsbruck (90 km) or Munich (120 km) are easy to get to for excursions.
